Connect Mobile overview

John Deere Connect Mobile is a solution that utilizes an Apple® iPad® in the cab that provides the operator a better understanding of the planter’s performance. Connect Mobile documents and displays the row-by-row performance of the planter, helping the operator monitor and more easily detect problems that can occur while planting.  Connect Mobile also has a common user interface that makes it easy to use between different pieces of John Deere equipment. Once the job is done, the iPad with the planting data can be utilized to perform basic crop scouting activities in the field.

Use Field Review to learn insights about the job

Field Review is functionality that enables the grower to view planting and spraying maps of a field that has been documented by the Connect Mobile app. The grower is able to access their data directly from the iPad at any time or any place. Field Review enables the grower to select the field and operation they desire to view. The grower can then select any of the nine different planting map layers or any of the four spraying map layers to view on the iPad. Field Review provides the grower the ability to perform basic crop scouting activities after the crop has emerged. Growers can utilize this functionality to validate planter performance, check chemical efficacy, or help identify potential agronomic issues that can occur in a field. If the iPad is cellular capable and has an active data plan, Field Review will display the location of the user in the field as they perform their scouting activities.

Connect Mobile is a solution that uses an Apple® iPad® tablet to help the operator better understand and manage the performance of their machines and implements. The iPad is utilized in the cab and works in conjunction with the GreenStar™ 3 2630 Display and 4600 CommandCenter™ display. The Connect Mobile app augments the existing information available by displaying higher resolution maps and performance metrics that are not offered by the GreenStar 3 2630 and 4600 CommandCenter displays.

 

To simplify the use of Connect Mobile, the field selection, crop type, products, and other documentation setup data are configured in the GreenStar 3 2630 and 4600 CommandCenter displays and automatically sent to the iPad. Accuracy of the documentation data and the maps are also important with Connect Mobile. The GPS information of the StarFire™ 3000 Receiver or 6000 Receiver is also sent to the iPad, improving the accuracy of maps and also reducing the use of the cellular data plan and the internal GPS position of the iPad. This ensures the documentation data being captured is accurate and displayed on the iPad properly.

 

Connect Mobile also works with a variety of other existing John Deere technology solutions. Please refer to the compatibility section for all the details.

Sprayer installation kits are utilized to collect and send the spraying information to the wireless data server on the self-propelled sprayer.

 

The kits are available as attachments in the AMS Price Pages; one kit is required for each sprayer. A sprayer installation kit is not required for model year 2017 and newer R4030, R4038, and R4045 self-propelled sprayers, as the enabling hardware is factory installed as in-base equipment.
